Seacoast Harley brings home bacon
NORTH HAMPTON - According to an article in
Business NH magazine's December issue, Seacoast Harley-Davidson is one
of the top-ten best places to work in New Hampshire.
The only retail company on the list, Seacoast Harley-Davidson was selected
to the top ten for the second year in a row.
The company, a franchise dealer for sales and service of Harley-Davidson
motorcycles, parts and accessories, is headed up by John McGonagle, the
company's owner. There are 40 fulltime employees.
When asked about the
noteworthy achievement of having the lowest turnover rate among the 600
Harley dealers, McGonagle said he had learned during
his work career to treat his employees the way he would want to be treated.
Over the years he's also learned, "The best money you can invest
is in your employees. The more they do, the more they make, the more
you can give them."
Some of the outstanding qualities that make Seacoast
Harley-Davidson unique are flexibility in scheduling combined with
a generous bonus program
and an excellent benefits package. The judging criteria for the top
ten list included such factors as: employee benefits, training opportunities,
culture, mission statement, employee statement and extra benefits.
